References in “A Routine Flight”
In the story, “A Routine Flight,” Casey says: “The condor may have great eyesight but coconuts are still hard to spot.” The term “condor” refers to a US operation in South America in the mid-70s, aimed at supporting local governments against their communist opponents.

The Story’s Consistency Challenge
Wood was originally featured in the first script, “Letdown,” but as a silent actor. We wanted to introduce him to let the reader know that he had been in the world of our main characters for some time, so that when Brookbank selected him for a position in the Black Orchestra, it wouldn’t seem to come out of nowhere. But this created a problem in the later story, “Spatter.” There, when Wood introduces himself to Eva, it seems like they are meeting for the first time. So we decided to edit Wood from the earlier story.

Profile of Josée Lafrenière
Josée has a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Concordia University and writes fiction in what little spare time she has. She also works as a freelance translator and editor to pay the bills. Her fave comic book writers are Neil Gaiman, who wrote The Sandman and, of course, Stan Lee, who created pretty well everything in the Marvel world.

Archiving and timeline – Part V
Timelines have two major advantages. From a narrative standpoint, they offer more freedom to explore certain characters or even to start new narrative threads. On the production side, they keep the illustrator from becoming overloaded while letting him or her become more familiar with a world that’s clearly defined.
